Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14

*As the pandemic changes, so does our response. Below is a look at what has happened both before and during our initial year of COVID-19.*

Children in Worship

As Christians we are called to worship this extends to children. Our worship space reflects this believe. We have children’s Bibles in the pews as well as children offering and prayer cards. We encourage children to make worship creations. Each week a different medium is offered (legos, pipe cleaners, paper etc..) and the children are invited to tell the bible story using them.

Initial year of Covid: Worship in a box – We provided worship in a box last year. This was a kit of items to help create holy space in your home, help children follow along with worship, and connect with the lesson of the day. There was a basic starter box and then a monthly refill. Stay tuned as this may be available again in 2021-22.

Sunday School

Sundays 9:45 am – 10:45 am 3 years- 6th Grade

Preschool Sunday School:

Preschool Sunday School will be self-contained in their classroom and learn the story, do a craft and play.

Kindergarten age kids are welcome to go to either to Preschool Sunday School or Elementary Sunday School.

Elementary Sunday School Schedule:

  • 9:45-9:55 am “Hook” – This is something that relates to the story or concept that gets kids excited for what they will be learning.
  • 10:00-10:20 am“Book/Look” – Looking into the bible in an age appropriate way.
    Age Groups- K-2nd or 3rd-6th
  • 10:25-10:45 am  “Took” – Bible Application/Exploring. Using different learning styles to come up with a take-away from the lesson.
Kids will have the opportunity to choose to explore the Bible story more in a way that appeals to them. Examples include: Music, Craft/Art, Game, Service Project, and more.

During Covid last year – Sunday School was over Zoom at 11 am on Sunday’s. This was an add-on to the worship box. We took the same story that was shared in worship and played a game or other activity around it, watched a video that explored the theme on a kid friendly level, and had a discussion. Most importantly we checked in with one another and prayed.
