As a congregation we want to grow both wider and deeper, meaning we want to grow numerically, but just as important, we want to grow deeper in our understanding and experience of God’s grace and love. To that end, we offer a number of classes and small groups for people to deepen their understanding of God through God’s Holy Word.

  • Wednesday mornings at 10:00 am during our program year, Pastor John offers a class entitled Word of Life. This is a class that looks deeply at the upcoming Sunday’s worship texts. The class is participatory and is a place where faith seeks understanding. Class meets in the church library.
  • NOOMA Adult Fellowship Time will meet after worship during the program year. The name NOOMA comes from a phonetic spelling of the Greek word πνευμα (pnuema), meaning “spirit,” or “wind.” It’s also the name of a video series featuring Rob Bell (author of Love Wins). Each video is less than 14 minutes long and covers a specific topic on a real-life situation, usually by relating the various experiences from a Christian perspective. We will view these short films together while we enjoy our coffee and treats, and then, around our tables, discuss with each other the content of the films. We will, from time to time, sprinkle in other short videos as well to discuss other subjects, such as creation care and other pertinent issues. Join us in the Upper Room beginning September 18 for our weekly gathering called NOOMA!
  • Men’s Breakfast – At 7:00 am on Tuesdays at the Pancake Haus in Edmonds, Pastor John will be leading a weekly gathering of men.  The time will include breakfast and a light bible study of the gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday. Questions? Contact Pastor John (pastorjohn@flrb.org or 206-546-4153 x 106).
  • Several small groups also meet, such as Women’s Bible Bunch, Inasmuch Quilters, KnitWitz (Prayer Shawl knitters), and others.

Contact the Church Office (206-546-4153) for more information and to get connected.
