Children's Ministry:

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

Children are extremely important at First Lutheran and we feel it’s very important to show kids that they are valued and have a place.  From the moment a child walks in the door there is something to engage them, we provide “busy” bags for the service that contain coloring sheets and puzzles that go with the theme of the sermon, during fellowship there are games and activities to keep the kids attention and promote them playing together.  In addition, in our Narthex, we have a table with toys on it as well as books for kids to read and look through.

Sunday School
9:45-10:45 Sunday mornings
Each Sunday the kids (3yr.-6th grade) meet in the Sanctuary where we create a community by singing songs, pray, play games and give an offering. Sunday school at First focuses on teaching children by using many learning styles.  The 1-6 graders use a rotational Sunday school model.  Each week the kids get to experience the Bible story in a unique way.

Village night
A second opportunity for kids at First is our Village night programs.  This is set up to, be more about growing as Christians and in our faith, rather than learning Bible stories. Once a month there will be a theme night where the kids will do a craft or have a game night all together. A few times a year we also have intergenerational events. The classes are broken into three age groups: 3yr-kindergarten, 1-3 grade, and 4-6 grades. Dinner at 5:45pm, classes 6:30-7:15
