Children’s Ministry

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

Children are extremely important at First Lutheran and we feel it’s very important to show kids that they are valued and have a place. From the moment a child walks in the door there is something to engage them, we provide “busy” bags for the service that contain coloring sheets and puzzles that go with the theme of the sermon, during fellowship there are games and activities to keep the kids attention and promote them playing together. In addition, in our Narthex, we have a table with toys on it as well as books for kids to read and look through.

Sunday School
9:45-10:45 Sunday mornings
Each Sunday the kids (3yr.-4th grade) meet all together in an opening, as we create a community by singing songs, pray, play games and give an offering. Each age group breaks off an explores the story they were taught in opening in age appropriate ways.

Club 56

Club 56 is our ministry to 5th and 6th graders. Each week during Sunday school the 5th and 6th graders meet together to explore the Bible and Christian life. This is a great transition program. Club 56 is still invited to all the events the children are part of and are invited to some of the youth events. Club 56 has their own lock-in each year.
